How to use the PSTC LMS

This guide is for visitors. It shows what you can do before you have an account, how to apply for a course, and what happens from your first sign-in to your first day of training.

You do not need an account to read this guide, browse the courses or take the readiness check. Your account is created for you when the Registrar enrols you.

Step 1 of 7

What you can do as a guest

Browse the courses

On the home page, open a course group, then choose a course to read what it covers, its hours and who can enrol.

Take the readiness check

It tests whether your computer and connection are ready for distance learning.

Apply for enrolment

The application opens once every readiness check has passed.

Read the FAQs

Read the Frequently Asked Questions and the data privacy summary at the bottom of the home page.

Step 2 of 7

How the training works

The parts of every course
Self-paced lessonsStudied in this platform between sessions. Each topic opens after you finish the one before it.
Live online sessionsWith your instructor, at scheduled times in Philippine Standard Time, joined from a link inside your course.
Practical exercises and assessmentAt the PSTC training center, on the dates given for your batch.
Time to completeUp to one (1) year from enrolment.

Step 3 of 7

Check your readiness

  1. Open the Distance Learning Readiness Check. It takes about six minutes and is free.
  2. Run all eleven checks: your browser, internet connection, speakers, video, microphone and camera, a few quick questions and the netiquette rules.
  3. Fix anything that fails and run the check again. Use the device you will study on: a Windows or Mac computer (laptop or desktop) with a camera and microphone is best, or an iPad with Safari or an Android tablet with Chrome. Keep its system software on a version its maker still supports. A phone is not accepted. Use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari, kept up to date: at least Chrome or Edge 152, Firefox 140 or Safari 18. Other browsers, such as Opera, are not accepted.
  4. Course video and audio play inside an approved browser; no plug-in or separate player is needed. Your connection must allow YouTube, which plays the Video Lessons.

Step 4 of 7

Apply for enrolment

  1. When every check has passed, the enrolment application opens at the end of the readiness check.
  2. Choose your course and batch, fill in your details exactly as they appear on your identification documents, and submit.
  3. The Registrar reviews your application in the order shown below. You are contacted at the e-mail address in your application.
